Definition Chance
The chance of something tells us if it is sure to happen, might happen, or can never happen. We use special words to describe this chance.
  • Impossible means something can never happen.
Example: It is impossible for a dog to meow like a cat.
  • Possible (or ``maybe'') means something might happen.
Example: It is possible that we will play outside today.
  • Certain means something will always happen.
Example: It is certain that night will come after day.
